Furno 3.0

It's been a month since I've uploaded anything and I feel bad.

The semester is almost over, in 3 days counting today, and I'm half yay-no-more-school!! and half omg-I'm-never-going-to-finish-this-in-time. I have only one project left, animation.

Yesterday was the deadline for the lego hero factory project. We had to do the modeling, textures and lighting of a hero factory and I chose this guy , Furno 3.0
Here is mine with textures:

Something fishy this way comes, the end

Soooo here is my fish yay!

I'm happy with the result but I'm also happy it's over, haha

The final modeling project of the semester is... *drum roll*
LEGO Hero Factory!!!
Everybody had to chose their hero and we have to model it in every single details.
It was really cool when she announced it, everybody was on the lego wesite to chose which
one they would do. I felt like a child and everybody was exited at the idea of doing this.
I chose Furno 3.0 because of its eagle head. Google it.
We started the modeling yesterday and almost everybody had bought their hero.
I was delighted to see a whole class of 19 to 25 years olds, building lego characters.
Of course I had mine too :D

So in about 2 weeks you'll see what it looks like. Until then, I'll probably post some sketches and
hopefully, more colored pieces.

Clearwood in space, part 2

This is the colored version of this lineart
Hey, you don't wanna mess with this space cowgirl!

Ok, two posts with drawings of me one after the other is a little too much, I know.
Anyways, I'm getting tired of seeing myself so you won't see any in a while.

I would really like to color something a little more serious...
Yesterday, I discovered an amazing artist, Adam Hughes, a DC comics cover artist, for those like me, who didn't know who this guy is. Check his Wonder Woman and Catwoman cover, they are amazing.
Hopefully I'll have some time to start to work on something soon.

Intro BG

I did this last year but I found it recently when I was doing some cleaning in my hard drive. We had to do a 10 sec intro to introduce us (well... our face) to the employers when we did the showing of our 1min student shorts. The intro would be place before the movie of each student so they would know who did which film. Basically, we had to do a cut-out animation and, a one point, put a photo of us in it. The theme was Super Heroes but the teachers thought that the intros would look the same from student to student so they changed it to Comic. I like the background I did for this project so here is it.

Something fishy this way comes, part 2

A few weeks ago I did a sculpey clay fish for my modeling class. As I said last week. I finished the modeling part and we started the texturing part. Here is the first version out of three we have to do. Each time we have a showing of all of our fishes, and we comment on them.
Everybody has the same background but it's not forbidden to alter it a little.

So, here is my fish for now.

Sketch!

Hey!
here are some sketches I did this month. I don't draw as often as I would like though.
These were done in the bus or when some friends and I meet in a little tea shop near school once a week.

And the Cowardly Lion because I <3 him

I finished the 3D modeling of the sculpey clay fish I posted a picture of, last time. And I'm planning on posting it here soon.... Like tommorow or something... yeah.
I need to post more drawing so it doesn't become a 3D blog.

Stay tuned

Something fishy this way comes

Yeah, as I promised,
here is my sculpey fish I did for my modeling class.

I'm kinda disappointed because my fish is realistic and I wanted to do something a little more cartoon than that. The teacher said that she didn't want to see any cartony styles, but when everybody came with their fish, many had cartoon features. If I knew, I would've work on the proportions of mine a little more :c

When I'll do the textures on it in 3D, I'll have to go with really cool colors to make up for it.

And, no, I didn't paint the base. It's one of my friends', and it was already painted.

Yesterday, I finished the watch I had to do in my modeling and texture class!
I'm please with it.
Here is the modeling

and here it is with textures

there are not a whole lot of difference between the second and the third render, I change the camera and the lights mostly.

The russian toy shop I had to do is done too! I don't have any pictures of it yet, and I don't know if I will put it here, hm.. I'll think about it.

The next modeling project we have to do is a fish. Previously, students could do ANY kind of fish they desire. I really, really wanted to do a hammerhead shark :c
BUT, the modeling teacher decided that it was too complicated to evaluate since some people would chose do to difficult things and other, really easy stuff. So, we have to chose between two kind of fish, the trigger fish and the butterfly fish. Furthermore, we have to do a realistic one. So, I can't do my cartoony hammerhead shark like I wanted. I'm sad.

We have to to it in sculpey clay first, to really understand it's shape and since I have to do it for tomorrow, I'll probably post a picture of it tomorrow night or saturday.

Stay tuned

Insanity

This summer, a friend ( Kinn )  and I decide to do the ImagineFX magazine challenges. There are some monthly  and weekly challenges. The plan was to do all of the ones in the summer because hey, if you draw imposed theme all summer, you are bound to become better right? ...and winning would have been a bonus if we were lucky!
And of course we didn't finish a single one...

It wasn't that there wasn't enough time, or that the challenges were too difficult.
I read the first monthly challenge, and the first weekly, but I didn't even remember to read the other ones. Time fly so fast D:
I had to work at my summer job and when I wasn't working I was hanging out with some friends (yeah I know it's a lame excuse haha).
To my credit, I started the challenge early in the month so I would have time. The problem was, I though "Men, I have time!" so of course, time flew and by the time I said "monthly challenge" we were at the end of the month and I had to help a friend of mine to move out.

Yesterday, I was looking in my hard drive for something and I found the challenge I had started. It was a good start, but I decided to redraw it. The challenge was "Insanity" and everybody were doing crazy people in straitjacket, and I think it's boring. Perhaps my interpretation is a little too... unique I guess but I like it. Here is my new sketch

And here are the ones I did this summer
I wanted to do something a little more dynamic than what I did this summer and the colors are off than what I wanted. I'll put "Insanity" to the pile of things I need to color.

Clearwood in space

Heya!
The tittle of my blog inspired me to do a little something about a cowboy in space.
BUT since I always draw men, I thought I could draw myself in space with the cowgirlish aspect of the pose.
Here is the lineart
Aaaaand the sketch because I think I like it better... meh.
I'll probably color the lineart soon but I have to work on school stuff (T____T) so it'll have to wait for now.

Model

In one of my classes, we have a project to be done in team of five. Our team have to work together to create this small version of a russian toys shop. It is going to be filmed and put in a montage with a matte painting as a background and a footage of a real person shopping. It's going to be shot from very close so it has to look real. None of us has done something like this before so it's a real challenge. So far I like my teammates, we didn't have a choice with whom we would work and none of us knew each other previous to that.
Each of us did some sketches for the design of the shop and here are a few of mine.
We chose the last of my sketches to to the model. A teammate took my design and did a 3D version of it on a computer program (I think it's AutoCAD but I'm not sure) because it would allow us to make accurate plans for us to build the model pretty easily. I then took his 3D model and did some color research so we would not be completely in the dark when we would have to paint our little shop.

First modeling and texture

Heya!
in our modeling/texture class, the first assignment was to create an original watch.
So here it is as it was before I started the textures
And this is the second render with the textures. It's not complete yet, we have to do three renders and between all of them we have to modify our textures till it's as good as we can.  I know the lights are too bright and most of the materials are not completely done yet. Still a lot of work to be done here.

I will post the final result as soon as I am done doing it.

MOVIEEEE

This is from the movie I directed, animated, cleaned, colord, edited, etc.
It's a 57 secs short done at the Vieux Montréal College.

Random Sketches

Those are some sketches I did mostly this summer to go on my tumblr page. I didn't really like the concept of tumblr, I found it to be difficult to see what personne did what and it was mostly a popularity thing where a lot of people had little to say. There are some exeption though but I had not the time nor the will to find them. Sorry tumblr, I don't really like you :C
Most of these are fanart so if you recognize a character from... say the X-Men or the X-Files or  World of Warcraft, you're probably right.

Old stuff

Here are some stuff I did last year or earlier than that, I don't quite remember...

I really like this one, it's not a style I'm used to but it tured out okay. This drawing was done in my second year (out of three) in 2D animation in character design class. We had to draw an original character to fit into an existing television cartoon. My minotaur was suppose to fit in the Fairly Odd Parents. I had a lot of fun doing this.
and some stuff...

Free will, I haz it

Yeah so because of peer pressure, I have a blog now! Yay!

I am 22 years old, an animation student, currently studying 3D animation in Montreal, Canada. Last year, I finished a 57 seconds shorts that marked the end of my 2D animation studies.  I speak french and I don't have many opportunities to talk in english so bear with me if I make mistakes.
I will post some of my drawings here, sometimes sketches, hopefully some more important personnal projects as well and some of what I do in class.
